Cosphaderm® E-1000 Sunflower consists of the strong antioxidant D-α-tocopherol from non-GMO sunflower oil. It contains a minimum total amount of 67.1 % D-α-tocopherol, equivalent to 1000 IU/g of vitamin E. The tocopherol is dissolved in organic sunflower oil.
D-α-tocopherol is the most effective form of vitamin E naturally present in the skin. Due to ultraviolet radiation, levels of vitamin E decrease towards the skin surface, making the skin vulnerable to oxidative stress. Cosphaderm® E-1000 Sunflower acts efficiently as a radical scavenger and antioxidant protecting the skin from UV damage, making it an active ingredient particularly suitable for sun-care and anti-ageing formulations. All formulations produced with Cosphaderm® E-1000 Sunflower may be labelled “contains vitamin E from a natural source”.
