Cosphaderm® CHA

ISO 16128
Natural Index 0
Natural Origin Index 1

Cosphaderm® CHA is the hydroxamic acid derivative of caprylic acid. This natural organic acid functions as both a chelating agent and an antimicrobial, demonstrating strong efficacy against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, particularly yeasts and moulds. In contrast to many other organic acids, Cosphaderm® CHA remains undissociated at neutral pH and is therefore effective across a broad pH range of up to pH 7.5. The combination of chelating and antimicrobial properties enables Cosphaderm® CHA to stabilise cosmetic formulations against metal ion–induced oxidation while simultaneously providing protection against microbial contamination.

Benefits:

  • Booster for preservation systems through chelation of essential trace elements
  • Strong antimicrobial efficacy up to a pH value of 7.5
  • Transparent water-soluble
