Cosphaderm® Sodium LAAS is a white powder comprising a solid mixture of sodium levulinate and sodium anisate. This blend displays skin conditioning and masking properties as well as a broad antimicrobial efficacy. The corresponding acids of both salts display a strong combined antimicrobial efficiency against bacteria, yeasts and moulds. Accordingly, Cosphaderm® Sodium LAAS can ensure a formulation’s microbiological stability as a stand-alone solution without the use of traditional preservatives. The optimal pH range for Cosphaderm® Sodium LAAS is between 5.0 and 5.5 to keep antimicrobial activity and solubility in perfect balance. This makes it an ideal choice for formulations at skin pH.
