This natural organic acid functions as both a chelating agent and an antimicrobial, demonstrating strong efficacy against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, particularly yeasts and moulds. In contrast to many other organic acids, Cosphaderm\u00ae CHA remains undissociated at neutral pH and is therefore effective across a broad pH range of up to pH 7.5.
